Their chemistry is instant and captivating.
Her life changes dramatically when they get married
Mikey Madison is wonderful as the young woman whose fairytale dream comes to life. But unlike Elizabeth Taylor in "Butterfield 8" or Elizabeth Shue in Leaving Las Vegas, the main character here never becomes the classic hooker with a heart of gold. She remains tough as nails, full of rage and ready to strike her next blow until the very end. Although she never becomes a spicy person, her determination never weakens. She knows how to stand up for herself and fiercely rejects those who fail in this regard.
Many call this part comedy
This is one of the best performances of the year. Just when you think you know where this is going, it upends your expectations and turns out to be a much more challenging film with a sobering reality at its core. Honestly, it’s a bit of a stretch, despite the dark sense of humor. Fair warning, this movie is pretty taxing on the psyche. You may be exhausted at the end.
But it’s an unforgettable film that will leave you in awe
